ABOUT ME
I’m Dr. Hasibur Rahman, a Consultant in Dermatology and Venereology at Apollo Hospital, Dhaka. I also serve as the Professor and Head of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at Community Based Medical College, Bangladesh.
With years of experience in clinical dermatology and teaching, I specialize in treating a wide range of skin and venereal conditions, along with aesthetic procedures. Previously, I have worked at the Cosmetic Surgery Centre and Popular Diagnostic Centre in Dhanmondi.
I’m passionate about helping people feel confident in their skin through personalized, evidence-based care.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
I completed my MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College, Bangladesh, in 1997. I later pursued advanced training in Dermatology and Venereology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, and earned my FCPS in Dermatology from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in January 2006.
I am a member of several prestigious organizations, including the European Academy of Dermatology & Venereology (EADV), the International Society of Dermatology (ISD), USA, and the South Asian Society for Sexual Medicine.
I was honored to serve as a Visiting Fellow Dermatologist at a Center of Excellence and had the opportunity to visit the Institute of Dermatology & Allergology in Munich, Germany. Over the years, I’ve also been awarded multiple international fellowships and memberships, including MRCPS (Glasgow), FACP (USA), International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and FRCP (Edinburgh), UK.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Since 2006, I have been actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, conducting research, managing patients, and serving as the Head of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at Community Based Medical College, Mymensingh, Bangladesh.
I have authored over 60 research articles published in both national and international medical journals. I currently serve as the Chief Editor of the Community-Based Medical Journal and act as a reviewer for the Mymensingh Medical Journal. I have also had the privilege of presenting at numerous seminars, symposia, and workshops both in Bangladesh and internationally.
AREA OF EXPERTIES
I have received specialized training in the therapeutic application of lasers in dermatology, dermatosurgery, cosmetology, and sexual medicine from institutions and workshops across countries including India (Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore), Pakistan (Lahore), UAE (Dubai), Nepal, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, China, South Korea, Japan, France, Italy, and Slovakia.
I am a life member and elected faculty member in Dermatology at the Bangladesh College of Physicians, as well as a life member of the Bangladesh Dermatological Society (BDS). I am passionate about staying updated with modern technologies in dermatological science and practice.
My current special focus is on PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy and Dermaroller treatments for hair loss, where I have been developing advanced, patient-focused solutions in Bangladesh.
